Designing a form with intricate layers of connectivity is a process that emphasizes visual complexity, evident in both its outer silhouette and intricate internal lines. Originally conceived and fabricated through 3D printing, this tile transitioned into concrete, revealing a network of connections and lines that cast rich shadows and foster complex interrelationships.
The true starting point for all of this lies in the single object on the right. It embodies my early exposure to concrete and building materials at my grandparents’ home, as well as the chaotic and uncertain transition brought on by the pandemic. This piece represents what it means to remove the constraints of design, to experiment freely, and to see what unfolds. It sparked a shift in my design thinking and became an integral part of the journey that led to creating pour.ous.
